Interesting Multimedia Header

Posted by Todd Heinz on 12/30/2009 3:59:00 PM

One of the prime communication spots on a web site is the header area. Many web sites deploy multimedia that rotates through a few messages. This rotation accomplishes two main goals: grabs attention and shows the diversity of multiple messages in a small area. Below is just one technique that can be used (from the US Chamber web site).

This technique presents 3 messages in a sidebar formation. The sidebars are expanded and collapsed to highlight one of the messages. The sidebars move automatically after a few seconds. Or, they expand and collapse as you mouse over one of them. There are many ways to present muliple messages in the prime communication area of your web site. This example is fairly unique. I will show some other techniques in future posts.
